First of all, thank you for taking the time to find me. If you are here that means you have an interest in following my journey of peace. I decided to start this blog to tell my story. I have a new testimony. I can now relate to Psalm 119:71 where it states, “It is good for me that I was afflicted that I might learn your statutes”. In my pain, I grew closer to my Healer. I will share with you in detail my journey with cancer, the side effects, and how I am now, as my niece tells me, “You’re living your best life”. Before I get into my story, let me introduce myself. My name is Cecilyn Washington most of you know me by Jan, but I had to repeat my legal name so many times at each doctor and hospital visit, I decided to stick with Cecilyn. I’m married to Rick Washington, I have one son, two step-daughters, 6 grandbabies and Diamond, my 4-legged companion.
I started out periodically noticing some blood in my stool. It was not enough to be concerned about, so I was not concerned and go on my merry way. As the bleeding started to increase my concerns increased. I would think about going to the doctor, but not to the point where I would actually remember to make an appointment. When the bleeding would stop, so would my concerns. (out of sight – out of mind). This went on for several weeks. Then, it was time to make the doctor’s appointment.
