As I laid there, I thought about Jonah in the belly of the fish. I love to do missionary work and visit different nursing homes, but I do have a weak stomach and there are smells that can cause me to throw up. My living room was my big fish. The odor filled the room, but the smell under the covers over me was humbling. I thought about Jonah and his time trapped in the belly of the fish. Jonah 2:1 says, “From inside the fish Jonah prayed to the LORD his God”. So, I too prayed to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I was put in a situation where I had to pray for endurance, for strength, for guidance, and for favor. I was totally under His will. As I lead the bible study in my home, I was thankful for the ladies that attended and were able to stand the environment. In spite of my confinement to the sofa, I could still celebrate the goodness of the Lord. I titled our bible study, “It’s good for the Soul”. We had bible studies 2 nights a week. I looked forward to Tuesday’s and Thursday’s night bible study. The studying and the conversations were a blessing and did help speed up the next 3 weeks. The smell was coming from my entry wound from the drainage tube. As soon as the tube is removed, the smell will go away. I went back to the hospital to have my drainage tube removed. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 1 Peter 5:6. God has a blessing with my name on it.
